The Facility
The four central rooms of the Gold Coat Inn are the original native stone house believed to have been built in the early 1900s. The original windows that look onto the front porch offer soft natural light. Our kitchen ceiling exposes stone walls and the tongue-and-groove hardwood roof decking of the original house. The remainder of the walls are the original lathe and stucco. Enjoy the history. |

The Well Room is named for the remnant stone wall that encases the original hand-dug water well for the house. And while the old well has been long-abandoned and filled in, you can envision the original occupants walking out and lowering a bucket into the well to draw water to cook their meals and to satisfy their thirst on hot dusty days. Enjoy the stained glass window or investigate the fossil rocks in the large stone fireplace while dining in the Well Room. |

While you won't have to do the cooking, you'll find our Kitchen very intriguing while you watch our exclusive caterer, Catherine McDargh of Eudora's Cuisine, prepare your meals especially for you. As in the last century, the kitchen is the center of the house. Its ceramic tile and corrugated metal walls, and structural cables were all designed to expose and contrast with the tongue-and-groove roofing of the original stone house, and a portion of an original stone wall. If the kitchen's design doesn't appeal to you...the meals that come out of it surely will! |
